CD19 is a transmembrane protein located on the surface of all B lineage cells, exept for plasma cells . This protein plays a role in regulating B cell development, activation and differentiation. In mature B cells this protein functions by forming a complex with CD21, CD81, and CD225. CD19 can also expressed on follicular dentritic cells and the majority of B cell malignancies, including B cell lymphomas.
