U-VUE Biomarker Datasheet - HLA class I

Target:HLA class I
Alternative Name:MHC class I
Clone:EMR8-5
Isotype:Mouse IgG1
Reactivity:Human
Main cell types:Nucleated cells
Subcellular Location:Plasma membrane
Positive control:Tonsil, Spleen

Human leukocyte antigen Class I (HLA Class I) is the human version of the major histocompatibility complex I (MHC class I) and it is comprised of A, B, and C subunits. These proteins are present on the surface of all nucleated cells. The function of class I MHC is to present endogenous intracellular proteins to cytotoxic T cells (CTLs). A fraction of HLA class I can also display foreign proteins and that signals that a cell has succumbed to a pathogen and is a call for destruction.
